Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 7–10 minutes.
- Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes, and chili powder. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the chili mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top and layer tater tots evenly on top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
- Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving garnished with sour cream and chopped green onions.
