  • 1 pound Ground Beef 80/20 or 90/10
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 10.5 ounces Cream of Mushroom Soup Can
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Can use fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • to taste Salt & Black Pepper
  • 30 ounces Frozen Shredded Hashbrowns Thawed and drained
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese Plus additional for topping
For the Top Layer
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Melted
  • 1 cup Additional Cheddar Cheese

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion for 7-10 minutes until browned and onions are soft, then drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream into the beef mixture, and add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix thawed hashbrowns with melted butter and 1 cup of cheddar cheese until well coated.
  5. In the baking dish, layer half of the hashbrowns, then the beef mixture, and layer remaining hashbrowns on top, finishing with another cup of cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
