  • 32 ounces Frozen Shredded Hashbrowns Ensure these are thawed and drained.
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese Consider using a Mexican blend or Gruyère.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion for 7-10 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper into the cooked beef and onions.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine thawed hashbrowns with melted butter and 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese.
  5. Spread half of the hashbrown mixture in the prepared baking dish, then top with the creamy beef mixture.
  6. Use the remaining hashbrown mixture to cover the beef.
  7. Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese over the top layer of hashbrowns.
  8. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbly.
  9. Allow the casserole to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
