Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Cube day-old bread into 1-inch pieces and evenly distribute them in the baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes and press down to soak.
- If desired, add raisins or chocolate chips on top of the soaked bread.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Allow the pudding to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Prepare the vanilla sauce by whisking together powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
