Step-by-Step Instructions for Pepper Steak and Onions
- In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken stock, water, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
- Take your sirloin tips and sprinkle them with salt and a splash of the prepared soy-oyster sauce mix. Toss to coat evenly, then let them marinate for about 5 minutes.
- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef to the pan, sear for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In the same skillet, add bell peppers and sliced onions. Stir-fry for around 2 minutes until they start to soften.
- Add minced garlic, paprika, and grated ginger, continuing to cook for another 2–3 minutes.
- Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the pan with the sautéed vegetables. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly, about 1–2 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet, tossing everything together to coat in the fragrant sauce. Heat through for an additional minute.
- Once everything is well-combined and heated, remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions.
