  • ½ cup olives roughly chopped
  • ½ cup banana peppers roughly chopped
  • 1 cup deli-sliced ham
  • 1 cup salami
  • ½ cup pepperoni
  • 1 cup peppered turkey
  • 4-6 slices provolone cheese
For the Sauce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard Dijon or whole grain
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
For Assembly
  • 1 loaf bread baguette or sub roll
  • fresh basil optional
  • Parmesan cheese optional

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Layer about 2 cups of shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced red onions, and roughly chopped olives and banana peppers on a clean cutting board.
  2. Layer approximately 1 cup of deli meats over the vegetables, using a combination like ham, salami, pepperoni, and peppered turkey.
  3. Using a serrated knife, chop all the layered ingredients into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Transfer the chopped ingredients to a large mixing bowl and add ¼ cup of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of mustard, and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, olive oil, and red wine vinegar.
  5. Slice a fresh baguette or sub roll down the middle and toast if desired.
  6. Generously pile the chopped filling into the prepared bread and garnish with fresh basil or Parmesan cheese if desired.
