Preparation Steps
  1. Slice the sirloin steak into thin strips against the grain.
  2. Combine the beef strips with sesame oil, caster sugar, and soy sauce. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the sauce ingredients until smooth.
  4. Coat the marinated beef in a whisked egg and then in seasoned cornflour.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a wok and fry the beef until golden brown.
  6. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 30 seconds.
  7. Add the sauce to the vegetables and bring to a gentle boil.
  8. Toss the crispy beef with the sauce and heat through.
  9. Scoop rice onto plates and top with the beef, garnishing with spring onions and sesame seeds.
