Step-by-Step Instructions for Ground Turkey Orzo
- Begin by washing and cutting the fresh broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add broccoli pieces and sauté for 5-6 minutes until tender.
- Add another ½ tablespoon of olive oil, then crumble in 1 pound of extra lean ground turkey. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Stir in 1 and ⅓ cups of orzo, allowing it to toast for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in 2 tablespoons of lemon pepper seasoning, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, and ¼ cup of lemon juice. Deglaze with 2 and ½ cups of chicken broth and cook for 6-8 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and mix in 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 cup of milk, and 2 ounces of shredded Parmesan cheese until creamy.
- Fold in the sautéed broccoli, allow to heat, and serve warm in bowls.
