Step-by-Step Instructions for Cheddar and Herb Soda Bread
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and your choice of fresh herbs.
- Make a well in the center of your dry mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Mix gently until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape into a round loaf about 1 to 1½ inches thick.
- Place the shaped dough onto the prepared baking sheet and score an ‘X’ on the top.
